how can i open my jammed door on model hotpoint wf321?

my washing machine has finished its cycle, and when the 3 minute door release light goes out there is a little click but the door is not released.
How can i get the door open?

check and clean out the drain filter machine could be fooled into thinking the drum still contains water therefore door will not open.
