How can we fit a thermocouple to my valor gas fire?

My valor coal effect fire is not igniting properly. Advised that a new thermocouple is needed. Can we fit it ourselves or does a corgi registered engineer have to do this?

All depends which Valor fire,A Valor Homeflame for instance is fairly easy as you just change like for like with no need to break any gas supply.Some may need quite a stripdown so you may need an engineer more for the awkwardness of it.
