washing machine wont stop filling?

fisher and paykel smart drive gw712 wont stop filling with water, just overflows and keeps on filling. will still drain and spin but that is all. is there a sensor that may have fallen off? where do i look?

Hey all, same issue as above - tried clearing the pressure hose, but made no difference. Fault lights are for pressure hose, although that mentions that it may be the pressure sensor fault too. Pressure sensor is on control board, so looks like a replacement of the whole board. At $200 approx, it ain't cheap. Now that the machine is quite old, does it seem a good price to pay, or go out and get some new tech?

There is an air pressure plastic hose which goes from the right hand side of the outer plastic bowl up to the control panel where it clips onto the motor control unit. Check both ends of hose are still connected. Next remove hose from control unit when drum is completely empty & blow down the tube to clear it. Put hose back on control unit & try filling machine. While it is filling, press pause. Water should stop straight away. If water continues to flow after pressing pause you may have a faulty inlet valve. The last possibility is that the sensor in the motor control board is faulty.

check aroung the outside of the drum, there should be a tube somewhere near the bottom that goes up to a pressure switch. remove the tube from the pressure switch and blow down it. chances are theres a blockage (probably a bit of fabric softner or powder) and the machine cant see when it has water in it.

make sure there is no water in the drum before you take the tube off, and after you put the hose back on run the machine through a drain cycle to make sure the switch resets
