I have a flashing "S" on the dashboard which has suddenly appeared and whilst this has been flashing my car has not been performing as usual. If you have had this problem do you know the amount i am likely to pay to get it sorted or how to fix it?

The flashing s light light is the automatic transmission warning light.
If its flashing it means the ecu has picked up a problem with the gearbox,it could be 1 of many many things.
While the light is flashing the gearbox will be in default which means it will only drive in 3rd gear and wont change automatically.
Does it change gear if you put the gear lever into 1 then change it up manually ie going 1-2-3-d?
Have you had any work done on the car recently,anything at all even if it was,nt anything to do with the gearbox?
