The car quite recently had an oil change but the "change oil icon keeps appearing on start up". Can it only be reset throug diagnostic equipment?

you dont say what year your vehicle is so assuming its a vectra c ie 2002 onwards turn on your sidelights /put your foot on the brake pedal /press in the button on your dashboard /now turn on the ignition .do not start just turn on and keep your finger on the reset button for about 10-12 seconds it will reset
