How do you fit the heating element, Mary?

Richard, October 2013
My Candy cic60 dryer has worked well for over 6 years. On Sunday it stopped drying the clothes and I bought a heating element from Ebay. I changed it myself tonight and hey bingo. I no longer have to hang clothes on a washing line.

my dryer "clean filter light" stayed on and the elements were not heating up, i got a technician out (had to pay call out charge) only to be told that there was nothing wrong with it, the elements were glowing, omg!!! when he went i tried it, only to find that it did not work, by this time i had, had enough so i thumped it near the timer dial, much to my surprise it worked. it must be a faulty connection on mine but do try this yourself.
i hope this helps you

Same problem here, Heater element looks OK.
I am now thinking it is the diode or the thermostat.
Where can I get the Diode, is this a standard Diode ?.
can I get this in Maplins, which type ?
Same for the Thermostat ?
Can anybody tell me what the Hoover model number is of the Candy CIC60 ?

Please advice.
Cheers

I have same problem and it appears to be the diode at fault.

It is most probably the Heater element at the back of the Tumble dryer. (it is behind the silver plate at the back). This will cost between £30 - £50. I have the same problem. Have tested my Wires going to the Element which heats the air up too dry the clothes and they work fine, so then tested the heater itself and nothing, the coils should be glowing red. This means the heater element has gone to Heater heaven.

Hello
My Candy Condensor heater has just stopped dead on new years day.. also the clean filter light stays on..the filter appears to be blocked inside!

i've got the same problem, however, the element as been tested and is ok, still no heat, then replaced it and still no heat.
Some guy changed the electrnoic control board to no affect.
My next strategy is to change the thermostat which apparantly cuts out when it gets to hot.

Can anyone suggest anything?

I have trawled the internet and many sites who do spares etc. but cannot find any parts or thermostats for this model and not only that i cant find anything for candy in general. Have they fell off the face of the earth??

Can anyone out there help
