landrover discovery 300tdi?

When leaving my car to stand for about 3hours i have to keep pressing the accelerrator pedle till the power picks up,Once the power as built up it runs ok.

this might be a lift pump problem as well. they do need replacing after a while, not hard to do, and not expensive.
