intermittent mis-firing ford transit?

my ford transit 2.5ltr injection, has a mis-firing problem it has recently had it's fuel fillter changed and for the past three days or so has been fine and the problem seemed to have been cured. However today it's done, as before and started to play up again, although not as bad as before, it sounds and feels lumpy, mainly on the passanger side. The injectors have been checked, plenty of fuel is pumping through the system.HELP, any idea's to whats causing this.

I was suffering the same problem (intermittent power loss) on a '99 transit DI, and tried the mod suggested by Rob - moved leak off hose to front injector - WORKED A TREAT!
I just wish I'd seen this post before spending £250 on injector pump "repairs"!

THANK YOU ROB!!!!!!!

there was a mod a few years ago, that moved the leak off return to the front injector (from the back)
this is suppose to remoe any air from being trapped in the injector pipes.
for this mod all you need is about 500mm of leak off hose.

Misfires are more proably in the ingnition systems .....anything from a plug to a wire to a ingnition coil .......if its a 2.5 you could proably change the plugs and the goto he wires and after that it would be a ing coil ........if you can`t find whitch cylinder is misfiring .........if it has over 30,000 miles it needs it anyway so you aren`t throwing money out the window ...
After it get hot see if you can get it to skip by power braking it
Put in gear and slowly press gas pedal and while holding brake see if you can get it to skip .........
