jinlun power loss?

on long runs after about 12 miles if i slow down the bike seems to cough and if i stop the revs drop right down and it struggles to pull away or cuts out completely and wont start again for a few minuites

my jinlun was also doing this and the shop i bought it from seemed to think i was telling porkys lol. they had it in the shop 3 times and they said each time there was nothing wrong with it. the forth time they said it was the carbs needed cleaning out and they also put an in-line fuel filter in it and it seems to have sorted the problem out.

i would check or get someone to check the valve clearances on it .all of the chinese scooters hav a tendency to tighten up on the exhaust valves especially and this causes a loss of compression when the get hot and expand.trust me i am a bike mechanic and have been for over 15 years :) the clearances should be about .05-.10 mm on the inlet valve and .15-.18mm on the exhaust valve set them to this and i bet its cured!

sounds like a fuel problem.if the vent on the fuel tank is blocked it may cause a vacumn and restrict the fuel flow to the carb.try running with the fuel cap slightly loose.but do not remove it completely!.this is the easiest option apart from removing the carb and cleaning it out.
