Alternator stator is probably dead. Only other thing in the circuit apart from the regulator.
Obviously, check for good connections, in particular, check that both engine and battery are properly grounded, and that the output from the regulator is actually connected to the battery. (It might be connected to the battery +'ve side of the starter solenoid - it's usially in a more convenient location).
