How can I fix my ex AA VW Transporter?

The immobiliser on my ex AA VW Transporter is preventing the engine from starting. The horn sounds when I turn the ignition but the engine does not start. It is a 2001 model with a separate fob for the immobiliser, ie. it's not the key. Any help greatly appreciated.

On the dashboard there is a little red button that lights up a blue led when it is pressed in, this is the AA imobiliser light !! It is so the aa man can get out of his vehicle whith his engine still running and nobody can nick his van !! Because when you press that little red button it allows you to remove the ignition key but the engine will keep running, so if a thief jumps in the van soon has he/she releases the hand brake the engine will cut out and that alarm siren under the bonnet will sound!! To reset it push the button back to off position then put your key in ignition and start as normal. There is a relay for the immobiliser right up under the dashboard behind the fuse box,the reason I know this is because I disturbed it once fitting aftermarket central locking , the van would start for a few seconds then cut out ,after 2 days trying to sort it out I found the relay and managed to press the connection back on now it’s fine , I’m leaving the aa immobiliser well alone now

This sounds like an aftermarket immobiliser has been fitted cause VW's original is built into the key.
You will need to trace the maker of the aftermarket item an see where it is fitted and disconnect from the ignition circuit. The VW original item is pretty good in these vans.
Sorry i can be no more help.
