Hello first of all engines F9Q734 may require a modified tensioner pulley.
1 Jack and support front of car
2 Remove
engine undershield
right hand front wheel
right hand front inner wing
engine cover
diesel fuel filter assembly
engine tie bar
3 support engine
4 remove right hand engine mount
5 turn crank clockwise until camshaft sprocket timing mark aligned with mark on timing belt cover. the mark is very easy to see at the top.
6 Remove blanking plug from cylinder block insert locking pin in crankshaft rock crank slightly till pin inserted.
7 Remove
Fuel pipe mounting bolts
auxilliary drive belt cover and drive belt
timing belt covers
crankshaft pulley bolt
crankshaft pulley.
Slacken tensioner nut to release tension on belt
( do not slacken tensioner nut more than one turn)
Remove timing belt
Installation
1 rock crank slightly to ensure is locked by pin.
2 Direction of marks on belt should go clockwise.
3. Fit timing belt ensuring that marks that are on belt align with injector pump, camshaft and crankshaft.
4. It is at this point that it is recommended to use tensioner gauge but I always go by feel between finger and thumb. You should not be able to rotate belt 1/2 way.
5. Use an M6 by 45mm bolt screwed into timing belt rear cover to push on tensioner pulley.
6 Remove crankshaft locking pin.
7. Screw in M6 bolt you have used to tighten belt to required tightness.
8. Tighten tensioner pulley nut to 50Nm.
9. You should turn engine over on crank pulley 4 complete revolutions and then re-insert locking pin into crank and then check all marks again.
10 If everything correct then remove locking pin from crankshaft.
11 Recheck belt tension then remove M6 bolt
12 Install everything now in reverse order to removal.
13. You should use a new crankshaft pulley bolt and tighten then to 20Nm then a further 100 degrees to 130 degrees.
Total time for removing and installing should be 3 hours if air con fitted.
You should have no real problems here good luck.
