I had this problem on my 2001 Picasso. The diagnostic found it to be a corroded wire to the brakes.

After having similar troubles. ABS non-funnction and brake fault error messages I sucked it up and took it to my local Euro car specialist. After bracing myself for a hefty bill for replacement parts the garage called back having fixed the trouble. Turned out to be a missing/broken earth connection to the ABS control unit (behind fuse box under bonnet?) Anyway they ran a new cable in and terminated to the bulkhead for a reasonable price. Perhaps a common fault?

your abs sensor is on your drive shaft if you look at both front wheels at the cv there will be a (looks like a circular ring with square's cut out)around the cv if one or both are missing that is your problem you will need new cv's cost new around £45 plus vat around £10 fitting fee all in about £63 it will put your abs light out your car will fail a mot if not fixed hope this helps you

I had the ABS ESP warning come on, the ABS pump was running constantly, cost £2000 under warranty, thank god.

The warning light comes on every now and then but go`es off after a short while, must clear the fault codes.

Hi, if you go to www.autotekelectronics.com they do service exchange ECU's at a lot less than the Citroen dealer or better than risking one from a breakers yard
