I have the same problem for my elderly moms recliner,so the ignorant can be enlightened. Just tip it over to look at the mechanism underneath. Then figure out a way to block the movement in the foreword tipping position. It helps to have mom sit in the chair upright of course to allow you to measure where the ideal angle would be then using either wood or hard rubber block the mechanism so she can get out without hurting herself. We are all going to get old some day
