My Indesit IDL500 dishwasher is not cleaning the dishes ??

My indesit IDL500 dishwasher is not washing the dishes clean. I have checked the filter, there is salt in the machine & I regularly run a cleaner through it but the dishes are as dirty as they were when they went in. Any help ?
