how do you get into the base pump and is it worth the bother?

lid off.kidney shaped back panel off.fan blade removed.whole back panel removed.bottom plastic ducting removed and then you can get to the pump.sometimes fluff can jam the impellor and its as simple as cleaning them out but it is an involved job to get to.
