How can I fix my White Knight CL 382 Tumble Dryer?

When I switch it on, there is a low humming noise but neither the motor and therefore also the drum are turning. I removed the top cover of the machine and just rotated the drum slightly and then it works as normal. The motor is therefore not able to turn the drum from stand still.

change the capacitor attached to the motor as this starts the motor up from stand still.common fault

This could be one of three things-
1) first thing to do would be to replace the capacitor (if there is one)
2) Dose the machine alternate in either directions? - if it dose it could be the change over relay
3) the start windings of the motor have burnt out
