How do i fix my hdmi cable?

The kids come down and the ps3 is on the hi shelf and they can push it so i take the wires out and pack it away,to be on the safe side. I tried to connect the ps3 back up but my i don't know if its my ps3, my tv or hdmi wire how do i find out?
