I have had a humidex dehumidifier for donkeys years, it always does this if the room temp is below say 15 celcius but i turn it off for a day and let it defrost.
you see the cooling coil isn't very well controlled it runs at about -1 and the air running across the coil is meant to warm it up slightly to about 2 degrees and stop it frosting up. this makes a very efficient dehum at room temperature but as we see a bit of a pest in a cool house. try move it to a warmer room if you thing that this is what its doing. Apart from anything else there will be more moisture in the ar in a warm room than a cool one and its this warm moist ar that helps to create damp when it gets into a cooler part of the house and condensates out. you may be more efficient if youve got room in the kitchen for this although you want to dry the bedrooms
