Tectrix Bike Max R Recumbent Bike?

I have a Tectrix Bike Max R Recumbent Bike. When pedalling there is no resistance and the motor makes a slight humming noise.

Cybex took over Tectrix in 1998 so spares are hard, but not impossible to find.

That appears to be a problem or at least the weakest link. (the connection between the friction belt and motor.) I have had that probelm on all of my bikemax cycles. Instead of spending $150 on an entirely new belt... I went to a local plant that had conveyer belt material... measured, cut and punctured holes for the screws... done... cost... such a small amount of material... it was free...

I had the same problem, and opened up the bike. I noticed that the friction belt was broked where it connected with themotor. The price of a replacement belt at www.sportsmith.net is $143.17 (I haven't checked the shipping cost yet).
