Electrolux slimline loud grating sound - dirty water - issues draining?

Hi
My dishwasher (Electrolux slimline ESL4114) is making loud grating/grinding noises at certain times. The dishes come out dirty and it is debatable if the water drains. Any suggestions? The machine is about 6 years old.
