why isnt my heater blowing in my 1989 ford escort ?

I have a 1989 ford escort station wagon . my questions are . why isnt the heater fan working ? what are the things i should check ? how do i check them ? and what are the fixes ? thanks for your time.

Check your fuse panel first. If heater fuse is ok, then the problem could be a burnt wire/conector right at the heater switch, or somewhere near the heater. The heater switch runs the fan at the slower speeds by running the current through a resistor which gets very hot and burns the wire/conector over a period of time.
