Compression problem on Rover 400 K series?

I have refitted the cylinder head on my Rover 400, but now only got compression one 1 cylinder. Can anyone suggest a reason for this and a remedy?

question !!!when you stripped the engine down did you evacuate your hydraulic lifters before you refitted them if not they will have jacked out and you will keep the valves open .if you did then have you fitted the cam pulleys on the dowels on the camshafts correctly there are 2 dowel holes and if you have fitted them wrongly then your valve timing can be 90 degrees out if all the above is correctly done did you turn the engine over without the cylinder head on and the liners not clamped down if so you could have displaced the liners which is not good

have you set valve clearances,--is valve timing set correctly?head gasket on right way round?
