sounds like a fuelling problem the small of fuel may be in the exhaust pipe if the carb is flooding sometimes it will go straight in the exhaust,the starting ofit will be related to this also i would say,tey taking off the carb and making sure the jets are all clear and also thet the float and float needle are clean and not damaged and set correctly,also i would make sure the vaccum tap is working right they have a habit of sending fuel donw the air pipe into the inlet manifold and then illing the engine with petrol.is it a four or two stroke model ?adam
