my double water valve is leaking on my hotpoint wma48p is this a common faultand how do you fix please

If it's leaking from the valve body, then it won't repair.
Just check to make sure the leak is not coming from the small internal hose /connections. Fitting a replacement is easy. Make a note of which spade terminal goes to which spade. Apair of pliers and a Philips screwdriver should do the trick
