2002 ford focus key fob programming?

i recently bought a new key fob and programmed it myself in less than a minute it opens and locks the car brilliant but wont start the car does it need something else?

Yes, immobiliser needs programming as well. You did just remote lock programming. If you have 2 working keys you can do it yourselt, otherwise dealer`s help will be needed.
DIY instructions:
Insert the first already programmed key into the ignition and turn to position II
Turn back to 0 and remove the key
Insert the second already programmed key into the ignition and turn to position II
Turn back to 0 and remove the key
Key programming mode is now activated and you have ten seconds to:
Insert the unprogrammed new key into the ignition and turn to position II
Turn back to 0 and remove the key
Allow 10 seconds to pass for the system to exit programming mode.
