Can I disconnect the immobilisor?

Have a Vauxhall Omega 1995 GLS 2.5td 5door saloon. Have had a problem with the remote not cancelling the immobilisor . We have replaced the remotes batteries and reprogrammed the remote but the problen persists so wonder if the immobilisor can be disconnected .

Hello, To disable the immobiliser would require dedicated software and diagnostic equipment.
System Operation
1 turn ignition on
2 ensure engine malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) illuminates briefly.
3 If MIL flashes engine will not start
4 switch ign off
5 wait approx 2 seconds
6 switch ign on
7 If MIL still flashes try spare key
8 If MIL still flashes then system malfunction is present

HAVING SAID THE ABOVE TRY THIS
1 Remove remote control from key
2 switch ign on
3 programming mode activated for 30 seconds
4 point remote control at receiver (located in interior lamp trim) distance from receiver less than 20cm.
5 press lock/unlock button
6 interior lamp flashes to indicate correct synchronization.
the above procedure must be carried out from inside car.

1996 onward cars like this
1 switch ign on
2 program mode activated for 30 seconds
3 press lock/unlock button
4 central locking system operates to indicate correct synchronization.
