i need to find relay for the ignition, car will not start, battery and starter motor both been removed and working fine, some times iginition light is on and sometimes not

sorry, the car is a vauxhall vectra 1.7 turbo diesel, 1995 n,reg hatchback, and the car will not start, i,v tried the starter with no sucsess and the battery is ok. i think the problem lies in the electric system somewhere but i now need help !!!
