When switched on, gives teriffic interference to any other phone answered and green light flashes constantly until I lift the receiver.

My Philips Magic 5 Classic completely takes over my cordless phone during incoming calls. I can't hear the caller at all. It sure causes TERRIFIC INTERFERENCE. I attached my cordless phone to the Philips Magic 5 as advised but it makes no difference. As it is, tis a highly unsatisfactory piece of equipment. Some Magic!! Can anybody offer more help than the manual does??
