golf gti?

this cars dont like damp weather.hit a puddle and it dies.and wont start again ,,like fuel starvation.any ideas what the cause is .and how to fix fault .many thanks...... ajb

Coil may be broken as mutley says but a bit of damp should not usually wreck a coil - most probably dampness around your HT system - Coil - Leads - Plug caps etc is allowing high tension to leak away resulting in no sparks.

Can sometimes see this by looking into engine bay and excluding external light as someone tries to start engine.

Take it all out and dry it off as best you can - hair dryer tissues etc and avoid puddles at speed
