SRS light on dash?

I have a SRS red light on my dash and it will not go off... My car is a Rover 45 and year 2000, what may be the problem and how can I get it off.

there is a switch under drivers seat try pressing the wires in tighter.

Underneath the drivers seat there is a sensor for the airbags it has a tendancy to come apart when the seat is adjusted forwards and backwards this lights up the SRS indicator.... ensure that ALL the connections under the seat are pushed firmly together..the light should go out.

srs stands for safety restraint system ie airbags and seatbelt pretensioners you need to plug your car in to a diagnostic machine to get the fault codes for your airbag system before you can rectify the fault
