Hi keith, the job is easily done needing but a few tools.
As follows
step1 Park car on level area ...Set hand break on.
It is a filthy job so wear gloves surgical or tight fitting rubber gloves.
step2 Place jack in position (dont forget to loosen wheel nuts before you raise the car) and raise the wheels clear of the ground
step3 Place axle stands on both sides of the car in a position were they are not in the way of the wheel and will not slip from the sub-frame. Chock the back wheels. Car is safe to work on.
step4 Remove front road wheels.
step5 using 18mm socket remove bolts holding the calipers in place remembering to support the flexible break line when calipers are free.Turn steering wheel to get better access to bolts
step6 with the calipers clear of the break disc and using a large screwdriver push back the break piston as far as it will go.
step7 remove old disc pads and replace with new.
step8 set pads in the caliper right way around and either side of the disc.
step9 Bolt on the calipers making sure the break line is not kinked.
step 10. With the breaks relaced on both sides.the break pistons need to be moved into position. Set the chocks on rear wheels ,let off the hand break and pump the break pedel..because you have break assist you may need to start the engine.
step 11 Check the break pads, break line, and bolts again.
step 12 replace road wheels and remove axle stands.
step 13 set hand break and remove chocks.
step14 check operation of breaks when satified take a short test drive.

If the pads have worn down that far metel to metal it may have damaged the discs as well.
