brake light problem Ford Focus?

Rear high level brake light suddenly stopped working, other brake light O K. Checked that bulbs all O K
Is the problem a faulty brake light switch ?

the problem was a faulty switch under the brake pedal replaced switch now ok

lift up boot and pull out wire gartter check wires going to light they usually brake after time of opening and shutting boot

if the normal brake lights r working id say no its not the brake light switch its either 1 of a few things
1 theres a seperate fuse for the 3rd brake light
2 its a bad earth/connection somewere
3with the bootlid open check the wires in between the top brake light it should be encased in a rubber type pipe
