How do I replace the drive belt on a Dyson DC04?

How do I replace the drive belt on my Dyson DC04 vaccum cleaner. Can you help. I need instructions and diagram if possible.

I have just stripped mine down and it is not logical! Remove the 8 screws holding the motor housing together then remove the 2 plastic circlips holding the brush assemble hinges in place, lift off the hinge bits and the handle section will seperate from the rest of it. You also need to remove the vacuum selector thing and the hose from the brush assy. Next loosen the 3 screws holding the clutch cover to the brush assemble and the motor can be removed, note the way the flange on the motor fits for reassemble. remove the 3 screws and you can remove the brush and belt with clutch unit. When reassembling you need to hold the motor belt with a screwdriver through the hinge hole to refit it on the motor shaft and remember to leave the 3 screws loos until the motor is refitted. Good luck its a fiddle

It is not impossible but it is probably best left to an expert.
On all DC04's except the lime green there is a clutch drive assembly.
The drive belts (there are two) are inside the clutch assembly.
You have to remove the clutch assembly.
Remove the circlip on the bearing end and the two screws hloding the gearing cover and pull out the gubbins.
You then spend the next three days looking for the ball bearings that fall out.
Reassemble the unit with the new belts in place.
Spend two days looking for the circlip when it springs off across the room.
Replace the clutch assembly.
Tools required - Small circlip pliers, star shaped screwdrivers - not phillips head
Expletives required - all of them and then some.

i havent had any experiance on them but normally if u remove screws on bottom of cleaner and remove the bottom of cover this will expose the brush this will reveal the belt
then u can lift brush out and replace bely by fitting to brush and motor

dont 4get 2 unplug it
