speedfight 100. why dossnt immobiliser recognise any colour key?

new battery just put on bike. immobiliser led flashes with both black and red key i got with bike switched on. is there a particular way to re-programme cdi with key codes or is it auto when either of the keys inserted? could the problem be immobiliser faulty. is there any way of testing? please help i've not much hair left!!

hi again Adam, was seein if my starter would turn over since you told me i need to pull the brake lever in to complete the circuit. on doing this i discovered that what i thought was the stop switch was actually the starter button. as i have no switch just a void with two contacts inside. starter turned over lovely as i bridged the contacts(get secondhand switch/button 2morro) the engine caught so i revved it and it responded. What the?? all the time the immobiliser led still flashing. i put the fairing back on and took it for a spin. goes like it shouild, picks up sweet too. all elecrrics working. so i guess the red key black key thing must have worked and the led is on another planet somewhere?? so just a new exhaust and brake pipe left to do and its mot time. thanks for trying to help me sort these problems out man, my daughter says cheers too, as i got it for her.take care.

hi Adam, i believe that the red key, black key, red key each left on for 3-5 secs is for the older machines with aec 100 CDi/immobiliser all in one box..have tried, doesnt stop led flashing. the newer ones with two piece system are different.i have found out today should have a 4 digit code that comes on tag with keys when bike new. this code has to be entered by turning red key from center first clockwise number of times for first digit of code then to the anti for second digit of code then clockwise for third then anti for forth. will try in morning. hope im getting warmer. any thoughts on this method

man the procedure takes ages to write down it s combination of turning on the ignition with the black key then red key then black key ,its alot more involved than that though, the easy and most reliable way to fix it is to buy a new cdi unti without an immobilser built into it from electrex they have a web site you can just unplug the old one and plug in the new one and it will spark fine, the cdi id situated inside the inner leg shield thats in front of your knees as you sit on the bike.ok good luck.adam
