i think the timing is out on my 96 ford escort 1.4 how can i adjust it myself?

The ignition timing is not adjustable as it is determined by the camshaft & crankshaft sensors sending the info to the engine ECU and that has a preset timing programme that it uses, the only timing you can check is the camshaft timing if the cambelt has been replaced
