This fault only happens when I have the electric power steering engaged (optional for parking etc on mine X reg 1.2. Punto) and in a fairly tight turn. Light comes on dashboard and electric power steering fails. Can be sorted immediately on restarting engine. happened on a roundabout so a little dangerous- is this electrical or mechanical fault. Any suggestions/ideas anyone please?

by the sounds of it, its a motor fault in the electric power steering. id advise u to go fiat and get it checked out.
