Ive had the same problem and it ended up that the timer unit was stopping (until tapped with screwdriver) on the reverse cycle, this caused the fan to stop as the drum was not rotating and the elements heat then built up and popped the thermo cut outs,

Hi, I am having exactly the same trouble and I have found out it is either the heater thermostat or the heater itself. If you do a search for your Creda plus model number and heater, you will find a number of sites where you can purchase what you need. Watch though as there are price differences. Hope this helps.
