canon 6320 cold fuser?

This infrequently used machine doesn't go through the complete warm up - it will think it's ready to copy and then produce up to 20 completely blank sheets. Gradually, it warms up and the image starts appearing from one side - but is going streaky with pale stripes running vertically.(top to bottom of portrait orientation paper) Any chance just replacing a thermister would sort it? Can't really justify a new drum or fuser.

What makes you think it is a cold fuser? If the fuser is cold it would not run and would come up with an eror code. It is more likely to be a toner problem. Sounds like the developer unit is starved of toner
