the central locking on my car is not working at all even though the lights flash on the key fob, i have just bought it, is there anything i can try before i put it in a garage

Put key in ignition, turn until dashboard lights come on but DONT start car.
Press lock button on keyfob.
Doors should lock then unlock.
Switch ignition off and remove key.
Get out, close doors and remote key should now work.
If not post back as some vectras use a slightly different procedure.
