1996 renault megane 1.6 petrol?

on the dash of my car an orange light with an electric bolt/arc which normally goes out when engine running, is now staying on, the idleing has become irratic and has become faster, up to 1500 rpm.
any information would gratfully recieved.

i had same problem on my 1998 megane, i noticed a little pipe from engine to the injector box had come loose. plugged it back in, the revs went back to normal and engine management light turned off.

the light indicates you have an engine management fault.. probably best course of action would be to get the car plugged in to a diagnostic machine to determine the fault
