Tumble Dryer, Zanussi, Condenser dryer not heating?

Zanussi Condenser dryer +/- 5-6 years old, TC7114W, TC7114S.
Drying takes long and does not dry. Not generating any heat. Cleaned all filters - no luck. ??? Needs heating element. Call out charges, possible element andt labour will cost at least £150. For this price can buy a new dryer. What else can be done ?

2 screws hold the element on but it might not be an element.take the lid off to see the element.take the shaped panel off the back to remove the element.might be a faulty stat inside the front of the drum.both element and stat are common failure items.you need a multimeter really to test these parts.element £40ish.stat £10ish
