Buy compression tester- cost approx £10-£15

Remove spark plug, insert compression tester end and hand tighten. Squeeze throttle and at the same time pull recoil rope 2 or 3 times.

Put machine down an observe reading on the compression tester dial. Any reading below 110 psi means your compression is low

firstly remove the piston ring, then put the end of your finger in the hole and pull the starter cable. There will be a sucking sensation on your finger,it should pull quite hard the release when the piston reaches top dead center if it dosnt suck hard it will be your piston ring im afraid
