to remove the 8mm nut hold the fan with one hand and use an 8mm socket and undo the bolt

if you are talking about the fan on the back and you have removed the 8mm bolt from the centre,you have to use 2 screwdrivers opposite each other and prise the plastic fan off the motor shaft.DON'T prise off from one side as the motor shaft is likely to bend and cause serious out of balance noise when used.in some instances the fan has to be broken off the shaft and replaced with a new one.right pain!
