Boiler overheating - Worcester 280 RSF?

Problem started a couple of months ago. When hot water was run the pilot did not always light. Had to turn tap on and off a few times.

In last couple of days, boiler is constantly overheating and cutting out even when heating on. Need to keep pressing trip button.

Checked pressure valve, showing 1. Have tried opening pressure taps on a flexible pipe, nothing happening. Usually you can hear water running through.

Can anyone help? I am a woman who does not know much about central heating systems but would like to know if this problem is likely to be costly.

Thanks

Thank you for your help. Contacted Worcester Bosch today, coming out tomorrow. Charging £285 which includes call out, parts and VAT.

could be faulty air pressure switch,if its faulty it will shut boiler down have had one that would fire up but shut down after a short period

forgot to add, these boilers dont have pilot lights but work off electronic ignition

if the problem with your water is happening first thing in the morning when the boiler hasnt ran yet its more than likely a sticking gas valve, problems with boilers are hard to solve unless your standing in front of them. Your over heat problem could be a few different things worcester bosch would come and fix one fault for a one off fee, i think its 120 pounds
