Does your system play DVD's but not Blu-Ray DVD's and console games? Chances are your diode for your blue laser has burned out. There are two seperate lasers in your PS3 system. Noticable if you can play backwards compatible PS2 games but not PS3 ones. Unless you know a thing or two about lasers and diodes, DO NOT OPEN YOUR PS3, as Sony wont even look at it if you do. If your past your warrenty, you'll have to shell out about $150 to get it fixed. You can look on Sony's PS3 official website to find the number to call to get the information. They'll send you a box with foam to package and send your PS3. Expect it to take about a month or so.
