Same on many chainsaws, start with both H & L settings on one turn out from fully in, adjust L for fastest tickover and then rev up fully and adjust the H setting so the engine freely revs up to max then turn anticlockwise until the engine slightly burbles on full revs, this is a slightly rich mix that will protect your engine. If you leave on a weak max rev setting the engine may seize if used hard. adjust tickover for a relaible tickover without the chain spinning.
