Verine "Ballade" Gas Fire Spares?

I have a problem in that the piezo ignitio has stopped working on this balanced flue gas fire. A local gas engineer says that it probably needs a new pilot assembly but I am having difficulty sourcing one at a reasonable price> A firm called Gas On are quoting £40 94 which seems a bit steep. Can you assist?

Many thanks

The Verine Ballade is now discontinued and Verine have been purchased with their products now modified it will be unlikely that you will be able to find a suitable spare part. Which ever part they are offering it is probable that it would not fit. I used to work with verine many years ago and am familiar with the products. I'm afraid it looks like the easiest and safest option will be to buy a new model, the most suitable will be the updated version of the ballade which is now the alpena. I buy all of my fires from www.fireplacemegastore.co.uk (now being a gas fitter, I've certainly done my research to find the cheapest) You will be looking at around £600 for the fire then around £200 to fit.

good luck

Take the piezo push button off the fire. Test it to see if it sparks when you press the button. If it does the piezo is not faulty.
