what lights the carver gas fires.is it batt operated?

i have a carver 3000 gas fire do they have a battery for the igniter please what lights the gas please

hi, it is batteries, if you remove the.front cover.
at the bottom right hand side, at the bottom of the controll knob shaft, there is a small box with wires going into it, the batteries are in there.

As far as I am aware its a piezo spark generator like the home gas ingniters used on kitchen stove. So no battery. I've had 4 caravans and none had battery powered igniters all had the piezo spark igniter.
Iff it's not igniting then is could be a faulty igniter or a thermocoupler best get a professional to have a look at it.
