After many years in the trade i,ve found that a little humour, aswell as simple, useful information, can be a good thing. I can see from all of your previous answers that you dont really go for either. maybe time to hand your book back to the library

Check why the belt has come off - it may be the case that the bearings have failed and the drum pulley is running off the vertical, throwing the belt off. Check for bearing failure by seeing if there is any vertical movement between the moving stainless drum and the fixed outer drum. There should be no vertical movement between them - if there is any movement between the drums, the bearings have failed and will soon collapse. If theres no problem with the bearings, slacken or remove the motor mounting bolts, which should give enough play to replace the belt. Refit or tighten the bolts and the belt should be correctly tensioned.
